The cultural issue that I am focusing on during my final year of postgraduate study is the relationship of the tourist in the city. In order to consider this relationship I will be investigating the modern tourist’s lack of a multi sensory experience and the developments in technology particularly in relation to photography. The image is an exaggerated expression of this cultural issue. As a manifestation of the tourist’s bias towards sight, the camera and the rejection of all other sensory experiences.
